1960's RP with Five

In a way Roxy was lucky that she landed in the 1960's and not the pervious era, her modern look was a lot easier to blend into the 60's than if she were dumped into a June and Cleaver type of situation.

"At least I can pass off my short hair as some kind of Twiggy or Mia Farrow inspiration..." She thinks to herself as she passes by a shop window, pausing to adjust her outfit.

"And I do look great in a miniskirt if I do say so myself..."

Not that she's dressed up this way to try and lure anyone with her barely covered bottom, she is actually rather modestly dressed compared to what she wears most nights for work. Today she is going for 'casual lady about town', something that won't stand out too much if she has to do a little breaking and entering.

"Another plus for a miniskirt," She thinks to herself as she approaches the closed down appliance store. "It won't get caught on anything."

Instinctively he reaches for his neck, his fingers brushing against the scratch marks left by Pogo from the night before. He sighs again because that was still a big kick to the gut to see him so young but still on the feral side.

"It's been going. My day will be better once I finally find everyone and figure out our next move. Because we seriously cannot stay here." He replies, completely dodging her question over whether or not he's been hurt.

She catches the fact that he's avoided her question, which means that yes, he probably did get injured. She rolls her eyes and puts the cap back on her nail polish.

"Well unless you plan on hunting for them at night looks like you'll have to wait till tomorrow...." She pauses, curling the telephone cord around her fingers. "So....you wanna come over for a drink? Ease some of your stress for at least a few hours?"

"I can't. I really need to stick around over here in case we get anything on my sister." He says with a sigh. "Besides there is someone else I'm keeping an eye on." He adds after a moment.

"My brother broke out of the mental hospital he was being held in with another patient. And well I don't trust her as far as I can throw her. Something is off about her. I don't think she's from this time period at all." He explains because Lila's presence has been bothering him far more than Roxy's presence. How many British accent Middle Eastern foreigners would be running around in Dallas, Texas in 1963. It just doesn't add up.

Roxy sits up straight suddenly at that news, her breath catching in her throat. Could it be one of her friends? She didn't think any of the other members of Gen13 had been pulled through to this time but what if she had been wrong? Oh geez, what if she had been wrong and Caitlin or Sarah had been sitting in a mental institute all this time.

"What does she look like?" She asks, trying to keep her voice from sounding too hopeful. "Is she a 6'4" redhead with huge boobs? Or an Indigenous woman with hair down to her tailbone?"

He frowns at the question but then her follow up questions give him some relief that she's not in cahoots with Lila. "No, she's Middle Eastern descent and speaks with a British Accent." He tells Roxy, because seriously that is a combination that doesn't sound very likely for 1960s, let alone Dallas, Texas. Maybe New York or California where immigration was much more prevalent and mixed in the population at large.

"...Do you think some of the people from the picture you showed me are out here too?" He asks, because it would be his luck that more people who could affect the timeline would show up.

Both her hopes and fears are squashed when Five describes the woman he's suspicious of, she slumps back down into her vanity chair with a sigh.

"Oh, yeah. Don't know her." She picks up the telephone cord and begins to curl it around her fingers again. "And I was pretty much 100% sure that I was the only one who got tossed back in time till you mentioned this woman but I had to check. I'd feel fucking awful if one of them had been stuck in a hospital for six months while I'm just bopping around town, working and singing at a burlesque club."

"Well that's good to hear. The last thing I need is to be chasing down more anomalies in the timeline." He says with a sigh. He's got enough headaches dealing with rounding up his siblings.

"How did you manage working at the burlesque club anyway?" He asks after a beat, because he was seriously curious how one fell into that sort of job. Luther getting hired as some mobster's muscle wasn't the most surprising thing. But even that had been a small shock. It wasn't if Luther didn't know who Jack Ruby was from the start.

She utters a small laugh, "Well to be honest with you I don't really have a lot of normal work skills, I barely finished high school so it's not like I'm going to get a job as a secretary or nothing."

"But I've always been good at dancing and singing so when I realized I wasn't getting out of this time for at least a while I started checking ads to find a job and saw there was an opening for a cocktail gal at the club. I worked there about two months before they finally let me have a spot on the stage."

She smiles and kicks her feet back up onto the vanity, "It's not always the best work but at least I get to sing every once in a while. Plus the outfits are cute."

"I suppose it pays the bills in a pinch. Do the idiots around here tip well?" He asks as he has no idea how burlesque clubs measure up against a traditional strip club in the future. He fairly sure that Roxy is hot enough to do well in either setting though.

"So is Luther just Ruby's 'body man' or does he have my brother doing other things for him?"

"They tip decently, not as well as this one kid I know though...." She teases, meaning him. "Real class act that one."

When he mentions Luther's profession as a 'body man' she laughs, glad that she's not the only who finds the term as ridiculous as she does. "He's mostly his bodyguard but he does do unlicensed boxing matches for Mr.Ruby, he's got one tomorrow night actually."

"Maybe the kid was just a sucker for a pretty face?" He replies jokingly, but it isn't exactly a lie. He definitely noticed her pretty face among other things. But he just didn't have time to let himself get distracted. If he did, he wouldn't be any better than Diego.

"Good to know. I may have to go see his fight, since I really need for him to snap out of his stupidity. If he finds Allison, hopefully she can talk some damn sense into him. She's usually the more reasonable one of the two."

She giggles, enjoying their banter. "Oh so now I'm just a pretty face am I?" She teases.

"I can take you down there if you want, it's not a very nice area and I doubt they'll let you in with you being so young." She says, "But yours truly happens to know of a side door you can use."

"I wouldn't say you are just a pretty face, but your personality isn't the first thing getting noticed at the club." He replies slyly. The pretty face, the shapely figure and the cute ass all come to mind, because he's not immune to beauty. He's just got more important things to contend with than his teenage hormones.

"Do you really think I need help getting into places that I shouldn't be in? If that were the case, you and I never would have met." He points out, because he definitely shouldn't have been in that burlesque club. But he wasn't about to be stopped, when his family was on the line.

She tilts back in her chair and laughs, surprised when she glances in her vanity mirror and sees that she's blushing. Blushing?! At this kid complimenting her body? Is she that lonely stuck in the 60's? Geeez.

"Sorry, I just kind of assumed that the door guys at the fight would be a little less easy to charm than us cocktail girls." She says, feeling herself still smiling. "Not everyone is as turned on by those knee high socks as I am..."

She bites at her lower lip, part of her shocked that she just said that and another part highly amused that she did. "But if you've got other ways of sneaking in then that works too."

"I promise you, I don't need to charm them..." He starts but falls silent at her next comment. It's completely unexpected, but it also brings a mischief smile to his face. "You got a thing for schoolboys, Miss Roxy? Is that what does it for you?" He teases her. Admittedly he finds it strange that when the Handler makes comments about his knee socks, he wants to punch her face in. But when Roxy does it, he finds it amusing.

"I definitely have a few tricks up my sleeves when it comes to getting into places I shouldn't be." He adds after a beat, but he doesn't smarten her up to his powers just yet. A pretty stranger is still a stranger after all. He has to be cautious there's too much at stake.

His brief silence makes her grin because it means she managed to crack his resolve, but it doesn't last long as he recovers quickly and is then teasing her right back. She giggles wildly, "Only the naughty kind."
Oh she's getting bold now, which she shouldn't be doing with a minor, that's wrong on so many levels. But there's something about him that doesn't seem like a kid, she's almost positive there's more to him than just what's on the surface. After all, she had been right about him being from out of time like her...

"I'm sure you do, you seem to be a resourceful young man."

"Excuse you, miss. Are you implying I'm naughty?" He asks in mock offense. Maybe it is a little too easy to play along with this game. He frowns to himself because seriously what the hell is he even doing at this point? He really shouldn't be flirting with some woman he just barely met, while he is in the middle of trying to stop doomsday in the 60s.

"I'm not as young as I look." He replies simply, he glances over his shoulder as he sees Elliot fussing around the kitchen with his tuna mold. He frowns because while the man makes an amazing cup of coffee. His cooking leaves a lot to be desired. "Oh great, looks like the host is going to try serving up his tuna mold any minute now. I need to think up an excuse to turn down the offer." He tells her in a low voice. Clearly trying not to be overheard.

As if her grin couldn't get any wider, but somehow he manages to make it grow another notch. "If you weren't then we wouldn't be having this conversation now would we?" She counters, "So far as I know good boys don't usually associate with burlesque girls."

His comment about not being as young as he looks makes her sit up a bit straighter, her stomach fluttering. Ah-HA! So she isn't totally wrong in her assumption that he's not all that he seems. When he mentions that his host is bringing out a tuna mold she makes a face, one thing she still doesn't understand is this era's fascination with mold type foods. Jello salad molds, tuna molds, it was all so disgusting.

"Ugh, my sympathies." She says, "You could lie and say that you're allergic? Um...or tell him that you're going up to the roof for a cigarette?"

"Hey I was just trying to find my big brother." He replies in mock innocence this time around. "You're the one who came looking for me, remember?" He says slyly.

But soon he's frowning again because he can see Elliot putting the final touches on his tuna mold and there is no way in hell he is eating that shit.

"Hey, I think I'll take you up on that drink offer after all. I cannot subject myself to any more of these disgusting mold dishes..." He says glancing over to the door to Elliot's room that Diego was currently crashing with Lila. Hopefully he doesn't regret this decision later.

His mock innocence is pretty cute and she laughs, "Ah but you're the one who called me tonight." It's a weak argument but she's enjoying this little back and forth.

Which is why when he suddenly takes her up on her offer for coming over that she feels a flurry of excitement, so much that she almost knocks the bottle of nail polish off her vanity.

"Oh! Uh, yeah sure!" She says, glancing at herself in the vanity mirror. Suddenly trying to judge how long she'll have till he arrives. "You've got my address so come on by whenever."

So long as 'whenever' isn't right away because she'd like to make herself look presentable, not that she's trying to impress him or anything.
It's more that she wants to be a good hostess....

Right? Yeah....sure.

As soon as she gives him the okay, he quickly stands up. "Great, I'm heading over now then. I'll see you when I get there." He tells he goes to hang up the phone and grab the car keys off the table.

"I need to go check on some things. I'll be back later. When Diego wakes up, tell him to stay put for me." Five tells Elliot.

'Wait, don't you want to eat something before you leave?' He asks, looking a bit deflated that Five is leaving.

"Sorry, I'm in a rush. Save me a plate." He replies as he teleports out of the building down to the car before Elliot can rebuttal. He'd be sure to conveniently forget about that plate later. Jello Molds had to be the invention of the devil. Why would anyone want to eat that shit willingly was beyond him.

As soon as he hangs up Roxy is a flurry of activity, ripping off her robe and trying try simultaneously to fix her hair, put on makeup and tidy up her little apartment.
Thank god she had cleaned up yesterday or else she'd be in trouble, as it stands she's able to clean up and get herself looking cute in about twenty minutes. Deciding on a cute pink romper to wear, if there's one positive thing about being stuck in the 60's it was that at least most the clothes looked cute on her.

Five has to question why he decided to go over to Roxy's place. Even though he was escaping from Elliot's bad cooking. This feels like he might be biting off more than he can chew. But there's a part of him that does want to see her. He's not sure what that is about. The world is ending in less than two weeks and he's flirting with a chick he met in a burlesque club.

Oh Five, what are going to do after you save the world? This could be good for you. A familiar voice tells him.

"Yeah, right. I'm not cracking up." He sighs as he pulls up to the address that Roxy gave him. He finds a parking spot that keeps the car hidden from sight and then teleports inside the building. He walks down the hallway looking for the apartment number. "Bingo." He says under his breath as he spots the right door. He takes a deep breath and then knocks on the door.

He knocks just as she's putting on an Otis Redding record and she takes a quick look around her studio apartment to make sure she didn't leave any bras or panties out. Most of her costumes are kept at the club but some of the base parts come home with her to wash.
After one last glance in a mirror to make sure she looks cute she goes over to the front door and opens it, leaning prettily in the frame for him to admire as she smiles at him.

"Hey there, sweets."

He looks a bit more tired than when she first met him, the stress of this impending doomsday already taking a toll. But that's okay, she has an idea on how to help him relax.
She motions for him to come inside, hip checking the door closed behind them.

"Whiskey on the rocks? Same as before?"

It's not lost on him that the way she leans on the door is for show and he can't help but give her the once over. Definitely as shapely as he remembers her from the day before.

"Hey there." He replies as he steps inside at her prompting, his eyes giving her place a quick scan over before he turns to face her. His hands moving into his pockets as he does so.

"Sure, but maybe make it a double. It's been a hell of a night." He tells her as he glances over to the record player. "Otis Redding, right?"
