Roxy stands in her new apartment (okay it's not new new but it's new to her) in a pair of short shorts, a bralette, and a baseball cap. She looks around, trying to figure out where she wants to start painting, she's thought ahead and taped the paint swatches to the corresponding walls so she knows which pink is going where. Now all she needs is her designated helper to arrive....
While she waits she cracks open a beer, turns up the volume on her bluetooth speaker and begins to sing along to the song that's playing, after all she might as well enjoy the acoustics of her new place while it's empty.]

You make me weep and want to die, just when you said we'd try

I can't bring myself to give a damn if people can handle us or not.

[ She makes him far too happy at this point. He chuckles at her little squeal as he follows after her into the living room. He definitely admires the perching but he also knows she is doing it to show off in the first place.

He pulls his phone out to check the arrival time on the app as she mentions him meeting her friends. He glances up and gives her smile. ]

So you think the crew is ready to meet me?

Omg are you kidding? My sister is basically hounding me about it. Our last two phone calls were about you.

[She fiddles with the paper label on her beer bottle.]

Urm I was also thinking of inviting your family, they were nice enough to let me come to your birthday thing so I thought I'd return the favor.

Well she's your sister. Of course she wants to meet me. But I meant your other friends. And well I haven't changed my stance on your ex. I cannot meet him and pretend to be cordial. The shit with Diego bringing Lila to dinner proved that.

[ Refrain from killing? Yeah okay, but pretend to be nice? Hell no. ]

You sure about that? Dinner almost turned into a shit show given Diego's choice to unveil the fact that he's seeing Lila again.

I'll warn you now that Caitlin will probably have about a million questions for you, and it will be written as an itemized list.

[She bites at her lower lip a little, still fiddling with the beer bottle.]

Yeaaaaah I thought about both those things and well....I was thinking I could just not invite Grunge or Diego and Lila.

I'm not that great with being bombarded with questions though. If it feels like an interrogation, I automatically start feeling triggered. So you might want to warn her to hold back some.

[ He grimaces because he doesn't want to have an episode in front of her friends and family, but he can't exactly stop those reactions given the trauma he has been through. ]

That would probably be best, even if Diego gives me shit for it later. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Don't worry I'll tell her to keep it to a minimum, she's just curious about you. I mean all my friends are curious about you but Sarah and Bobby are way more chill.

Do you have any questions about them?

[She heaves a mental sigh of relief, she had been worried that Five would get offended that she wouldn't want to invite Diego. She doesn't mind Diego but she doesn't want him bringing Lila with him.]

Why would he give you shit about it? It's my house.

I get the curiosity, but there's got to be some pacing. My family surprisingly restrained themselves from asking you a billion questions, but they didn't quite spare me. Klaus and Vanya get that I need space with answering questions, everyone else can get overbearing about it.

[ He explains, because he just doesn't want to feel like he's being boxed in. Even if they all have the best intentions. ]

Not really, is there anything you want me to know about them?

[ He sighs at that question because it is complicated to explain...at least in his mind. ]

Look at it this way. We grew up being divided and pitted against each other on a constant basis. It leaves a lot of hard feelings that haven't all been entirely squashed because we are talking years of issues here. Diego already has abandonment issues when it comes to me. Not being invited to my girlfriend's house warming party is just going to be seen as being excluded whether we have a good reason for it or not.

I'll make sure they all realize it's a party and not a question and answer session.

[She says with a smile and then thinks for a moment about if Five needs to be warned about anything in advance.]

Hrmmm I guess I'll just mention that Sarah has very strong opinions on a lot of things, not that I think she'll start a fight with anyone but just in case any heated debates start up you should know that she won't back down.
Oh and if you ask Bobby about music you'll be stuck in a conversation with him all night about the genius of Frank Zappa or something.

[She tilts her head to one side as he explains a bit about Diego and while she feels a bit bad for him she still wrinkles her nose.]

Well if he really has an issue with it then he can talk to me, because it's my housewarming.

[ He says with a nod because when it comes down to it, he trusts Roxy. ]

Okay, I'll keep that in mind.

[ He'd just have to make sure his siblings behaved themselves...at least the ones who could attend. Though it if came down to Vanya and Klaus. He knew at least Vanya would behave. ]

You're friend, Bobby isn't skittish around guys who flirt is he? Because if Klaus comes there is a real chance he will flirt with the guy whether your friend is straight or not.

[ He frowns at the idea of her and Diego having words. ]

No, I won't let him take his grievances to you. It might be your housewarming party, but this is an issue between my brother and I. There's no way I want you getting pulled into the middle of it.

[Roxy throws her head back and laughs.]

Omg I would be SO happy if Klaus hooked up with Bobby, it won't happen because Bobby's straight but I'm totally gonna shove them at one another just so I can see that interaction.

Oh and speaking of shoving people at one another, I'm totally going to put Luther near Caitlin and see if anything happens.

[She sighs and runs a hand through her hair.]

Okay fine, but I'm just saying. If he's going to bitch at you about my party then that's not fair and I'm not afraid to tell him exactly why he wasn't invited.

Come on, Klaus prides himself being able to flip straight guys. I just wanted to be sure that your friend isn't adverse to having gay men come on to him. I don't want to see anyone get their feelings hurt, you know?

[ He knows his brother is a lot to take in. Thus he doesn't want to overwhelm her friend either. ]

If she's as intelligent as you say, Luther might not be her speed. He can get lost when talk gets too technical.

[ He chuckles a bit. Obviously he loves his brother, but he can be pretty clueless at times and talking science with him can go right over his head. He ports over to her and captures her waist as she sighs.]

You think I wouldn't tell him? I just don't want you to be in the middle of something that is an ongoing issue with my brother.

Nah Bobby's cool, he won't mind Klaus at all I bet. Bobby's never really had a lot of people hit on him so he might even be a bit flattered by it.

[But now that she knows Klaus likes to flip straight guys she's going to make sure Bobby wears something real nice to the party.]

They don't have to necessarily have a intellectual connection in order for something to happen. I'm just thinking that Luther might be one of the only guys my sister won't break during sex....

[The sudden feeling of his arms around her waist brings some comfort but she is still a bit annoyed at Diego.]

I know it's just.... It's not fair that he might do that to you. I'm trying hard to like your brother but he's not making it easy by acting like such a child.

[ He simply nods because he trusts that Roxy knows her friend. Though he laughs at her reason for wanting to put her sister and his brother together. ]

Well he's pretty sturdy, but you may have to introduce a lot of liquor to the party. He's so awkward about sex. I'm pretty sure he's only had sex once.

[ Instinctively leans in to press a kiss to her cheek. ]

Ah babe, it's complicated. You don't have to force yourself to like him. You guys haven't really had any quality time to get to know each other. And well Lila kinda muddies the area.

Hey that's great! I'm pretty sure Kat's only ever had sex once too, so they've already got stuff in common. See? It'll totally work.

[Caitlin would probably be mortified to know that her sister is not only sharing such information but is also planning on trying to hook her up with Five's brother, but you can't say that Roxy isn't coming at it with nothing but good intentions. She just wants Caitlin to have someone nice in her life as well.

She smiles when he kisses her cheek and relaxes a little bit.]

You're right.... I'm sorry. What are some good things about Diego? Things you like about him.

Let's not ever tell them we had this conversation, okay?

[ Because he's pretty sure that Luther would be mortified that Five is talking about his sexual experiences with his girlfriend.

But then he leans in when she starts relaxing and lightly shakes his head.]

I don't want to talk about my brothers right now.

[ He says softly pressing a kiss to her lips, moving to press his body against her as she leans against the window sill. But before he can get carried away his phone pings with the message that the delivery person is downstairs. He pulls away with a sigh. ]

Hold that thought. I'm going to go grab the pizza.

[ He whispers as he steps back and teleports downstairs to get the pizza. ]

[She says even though she knows that she'll probably still eventually tell Kat they talked about this. She's not great at keeping secrets.

When he moves in closer to her she happily dismisses the conversation about Diego, instead she kisses him back sweetly, hooking a leg up and around his hips as he presses himself against her. She's just about to try and unzip his painting suit when the ping comes through that their pizza has arrived.]

Mmmmm you are saved by the bell sir....

[She teases and pulls away to let him teleport down to get their food. While he's gone she checks her phone, looking at the photos she took of them in her bedroom and smiling. As she suspected her favorite is the last one where they are kissing on the lips.]

[ He's only gone for a few minutes. When he pops back into her apartment he's carrying a medium veggie pizza, a small container of zucchini fries with a vegan ranch dipping sauce and a handful of napkins. ]

I made sure to get extra napkins from the delivery person. Since I was pretty sure you don't have any plates in here yet.

[ He tells her as he moves over to the kitchen to put the food down on the counter. He wasn't sure if she liked crushed peppers or extra parmesan cheese so he got a few packets from the delivery person as well. He leaves the on the counter by the pizza just in case she wants any.]

Are you sure you're okay with veggie pizza?

[ He asks again, because he knows Roxy isn't a vegetarian in the least. He opens the pizza box as well as the container of zucchini fries in case she wants to try the fries. ]

[She giggles and bounces into the kitchen, amused by his concern.]

Yes I'm sure, you don't have to keep asking you know. If I ever want a giant steak or BBQ pork I'll tell you, I may be from the south but I don't mind eating vegetables.

[She kisses his cheek as she grabs herself a slice.]

In fact my friend Sarah will probably thank you for influencing me to eat more vegetarian meals, she's been trying to do that for years now.

I just don't want you to feel obligated to eat the same foods as me. I'm only really eating vegan/vegetarian because the food tends to be less harsh on my stomach. Not because I'm a health nut or trying to save the planet or whatever reasons people give for going vegan/vegetarian.

[ He says as he grabs one of the zucchini fries, dips it into the vegan ranch and begins munching on it.]

Well she can only thank me, if you actually enjoy the meals. I would hate if you ate this stuff and you didn't really like it.

So far all the vegetarian meals I've tried with you have been good so yes, I'm enjoying them.

Just don't ever expect me to like that gross cauliflower mashed bread substitute recipe that was trending a while ago okay? I'm happy to eat vegetables but no way am I giving up real bread.

That's good to know. Do you want to try these?

[ He points to the zucchini fries as he picks up a slice of pizza to munch on next. Though he pauses to pour a little of the ranch on his slice before eating it. ]

You do realize that they do make vegan friendly bread that doesn't use cauliflower right? They just use a substitute for eggs and in some cases milk. It just depends on the type of bread. The same with pasta. But honestly I don't expect you to give anything up. Why do you think I already have places saved that serve food that I can eat? So I don't inconvenience anyone else by having to ask twenty billion questions about the food being served at their favorite places.

[She grabs a zucchini stick and tries a bite, makes a face and dips it into the ranch, then tries it again. Nodding.]

Mmm better with the ranch for sure.

[After she finishes eating the zucchini stick she sticks her tongue out at him.]

Yes I'm aware Mr smarty pants, but that cauliflower stuff was trending on tiktok so it's really popular right now.
But really, you should give me a list of stuff you like to eat that I can keep in my fridge and cupboards. That way we don't always have to order in when you stay over here.

[ He laughs at the little face she makes at eating the fry without the ranch. It's too cute, he has to drop a kiss to her forehead. ]

Yeah, they definitely taste different with the ranch, which is dairy free I might add.

[ He points out since she approved of it. He really does find that he does a lot better when things don't have dairy in them or not as much dairy. The veggie pizza is still using regular cheese, but he ordered it that way for her benefit because he figured it would taste better to her. ]

I don't know babe, the place I normally get groceries is bit more pricey than the normal market. Maybe I'll just buy some stuff to keep at your place instead of letting you foot the bill for my diet.

[She looks up at him and smiles when he drops a kiss on her forehead.]

You sure? I don't mind buying you some stuff from time to time, hopefully I'll have a job soon. I've been digging around in the want ads and online to figure out my options.

It's fine, you are still getting your budget together. Don't worry about my food. I can handle it.

[ While he appreciates the gesture, he doesn't want to add to her plate. He's suppose to be helping her, not making more bills for her. ]

Besides I'm slowly moving toward an entirely vegan diet because I really need to give up dairy. I do okay with eggs but milk products aren't doing me any favors. So I'm thinking it might be easier to just give up both.

[ He admits, because he knows that is going to boast his grocery bill despite the fact that he doesn't cook a lot. And well he doesn't want her to have to go through extra trouble for him.]
